What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy focuses on helping people across the lifespan participate in the things they want and need to do by therapeutically using everyday activities or occupations.

Within our setting, our Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants help people recovering from injury to regain skills, often providing support or splints for children and adults experiencing physical and cognitive changes.

They can also assist with casting custom splints to protect joints and improve overall quality of life.

What is Hand Therapy?

Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) is an OT or PT by profession with at least three years of experience, plus 4,000 hours of hand therapy practice (upper extremity rehabilitation). A CHT must have passed a certification examination that demonstrates knowledge of all areas of hand therapy before being granted the right to use the CHT designation.
