Megan Werner, LAT, ATC, ITAT, NASM-CES
Sports Medicine Coordinator
Megan graduated from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse in 2010, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. After graduation, she was the athletic trainer at Oregon High School. Megan joined Advanced PT in 2013 and became the athletic trainer at Hortonville High School. She now serves as an onsite provider for Advanced PT’s Industrial & Tactical Medicine wing while continuing her role as Sports Medicine Coordinator, overseeing athletic training services for community and youth sporting events. Her professional interests include injury prevention, strength and conditioning, nutrition, and working with athletes of all ages. Additionally, Megan is trained in cupping therapy, early intervention, and job site analysis, is an ImPACT Trained Athletic Trainer, and holds a Corrective Exercise Specialist certification through NASM.
Growing up on a dairy farm near Houston, MN, Megan developed a love for the outdoors and being physically active. She was a 3-sport athlete in high school and played ice hockey while at UW-La Crosse. In her free time, Megan enjoys cooking, hiking with her husband and golden retriever, and traveling, especially to our country’s National Parks.

Nevada Watson, MS, LAT, ATC
Lawrence University - Head Athletic Trainer
Nevada, a native of Washington, D.C., earned her Bachelor of Science from George Mason University in 2013 and her Master of Science from the University of South Florida in 2016. With more than a decade of experience in high school athletics, Division II and III collegiate programs, and clinical settings, she offers a well-rounded and compassionate approach to athletic training.
Her professional passions include promoting mental wellness among athletes and athletic trainers, soft-tissue mobilization, injury rehabilitation, and mentoring the next generation of athletic training students. Nevada is dedicated to fostering supportive environments where athletes can thrive both physically and mentally.
Outside of work, she enjoys road cycling, exploring new restaurants, traveling, visiting family in Madrid, and spending time with friends.

Marc Viergutz, MS, LAT, ATC, GTS, PES
Lawrence University - Associate Athletic Trainer
Marc graduated from Grand Canyon University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. He went on to get his Masters in Athletic Training from the University of South Florida in 2019.
He is originally from Madison, Wisconsin, but grew up in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Marc played baseball mostly growing up and now plays golf casually. His professional interests include injury prevention, recovery, mobility, and keeping his athletes out on the field doing what they love to do!
In his free time, he likes to play video games, watch sports, and spend time at his family's waterfront property in Minocqua.

Brenden Canterbury, ATC, LAT
Lawrence University - Associate Athletic Trainer
Brenden joined the Lawrence University Athletic Training staff in August 2025. Brenden is a native of Waupaca, WI. He studied at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science and his Master's in Athletic Training.
During his Master's clinical rotation, he spent time at the High school and collegiate levels with a variety of sports in each setting. He played football for two years at UWSP and played baseball for 5 years.
He enjoys spending his time playing all sports, reading, and playing video games.

Tessa Gorchesky, ATC, LAT
Lawrence University - Associate Athletic Trainer
Tessa joined Advanced in October 2024. Born and raised in Cody, Wyoming, she earned my bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Performance and my master’s degree in Athletic Training from the University of Montana. Graduating during the height of COVID, Tessa returned to Cody and became a nationally registered Advanced EMT. Later, Tessa worked at a small NAIA college in Montana before moving into the NCAA setting here at Lawrence.
Tessa’s professional interests include preventative care, holistic approaches, emergency medicine, and mental health.
Outside of work, Tessa enjoys hiking, exploring nature, traveling, spending time at both the beach and in the mountains, binge-watching Netflix, karaoke, baking and cooking, practicing yoga, and learning new things.

Matty Burst, ATC, LAT
Lawrence University - Associate Athletic Trainer
Matty joined the Lawrence University Athletic Training staff in September 2025. A Green Bay, WI native, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from UW–Green Bay and her Master’s in Athletic Training from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN.
Before coming to Lawrence, Matty served as an assistant athletic trainer at the University of Dubuque in Iowa, where she primarily worked with volleyball, women’s hockey, and track and field. She has also gained experience at Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado, and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Matty’s professional interests include developing individualized rehabilitation programs, soft tissue therapy, and promoting brain health awareness.
Outside of work, Matty enjoys spending time with her husband, Kasey, and daughter, River. She also loves hiking, working out, and quilting.
