Pelvic Health Services

Pelvic physical therapy is a specialized area of physical therapy devoted to the musculoskeletal assessment and treatment of the pelvic floor, which is the group of muscles extending from the pubic bone to the tailbone. The pelvic floor muscles support the pelvis and pelvic organs, provide stability to the trunk during movement, aid in sexual function, and help maintain the continence of urine and stool. Unresolved pelvic floor dysfunction may contribute to the chronic low back or hip pain. The goal of pelvic physical therapy is to improve the function of the pelvic floor through evaluation of the musculoskeletal system, movement, and posture, and appropriate treatment.
